Water from air –

tailoring minerals to human

body needs Introduction

Water is essential for human survival and is vital for the body to function at its best. While water has the molecular formula H2O, it is crucial to realise that natural water also contains trace amounts of important minerals. According to scientists, drinking water is a crucial source of nutrients for the human body. This is because the minerals and trace elements that are present in water are ionised, and our digestive system can readily absorb these ions.

Water comprises ~60% of our body. That makes the intake of additional fluids one of the most important things people need to live daily. Water sources such as tap water, spring water, reverse osmosis and distilled water are diverse in their quality and occurrence.

Why using

the air as a

source is

AWG-Drink the best of what you can get
from the air

*AWG: Atmospheric Water Generation

AWG as a source of water
The advantages of using AWG water are highlighted by years of research: According to Kaplan and Inbar et.al 5,6 comparisons of contaminants in the water generated by AWG (without purification system on board) to real surrounding air concentrations of volatile pollutants did not reveal any significant correlations; while some pollutants found at high concentrations in the air, this was not reflected by their presence in the produced water. The findings show that even in areas that are considered excessively polluted relative to the natural environment, the water produced from the air by AWG without filtering could be considered suitable for drinking.

It’s becoming evident that:
a. Water from air source is the purest available to date as opposed to an increase of contaminants in other natural reservoirs. b. The source is unlimited and renewable given the natural hydrologic cycle, which continuously distills ground reservoirs to humidity. c. Water quality and its characteristics stay the same independently of location.“Airborne-mineral-free-water” that is related to the definition of “distilled” is probably one of Watergen’s advantages over consuming other sources of water, by the fact that we can tailor nutrients to it on-demand to human consumption more efficiently than other available natural products.

Infrastructure independent, Easy to install
Unlimited & Renewable source
Devices are subjected to strict regulation, field tests and data collection
Air source saturation & Contact time
Prevent the abuse of ground reservoirs

Water Essential minerals

Calcium, magnesium, and sodium are mostly found in tap water. Depending on location, potassium, silica, and selenium may also found in some water supply. On April 2006 the World Health Organization (WHO) addressed the role of drinking-water containing calcium and/or magnesium as a contribution to the daily intake of those minerals. In fact, since the mid-1950s, studies have supported the hypothesis that extra magnesium in drinking-water contribute to reduced cardiovascular diseases and other health benefits in populations. In addition, other epidemiological studies supported the hypothesis that magnesium correlated best with beneficial effects on cardiovascular mortality rates. An adequate calcium intake is important for the prevention of hypertension, preeclampsia and for bone health maintenance 1,2. It has also been associated with the reduction of renal stones, increased body mass index, insulin resistance and colorectal cancer 3,4. Calcium is essential as well and the WHO states that „high-calcium water (and calcium from other sources) is beneficial to bone health by suppressing bone resorption.“

Calcium is a mineral critical to several bodily functions. In addition to giving structure and strength to bones and teeth, calcium also plays other important roles in the body, such as conducting nerve signals, making muscles move, aiding in the release of hormones and enzymes, and helping blood vessels circulate blood throughout the body.

Calcium is essential as well and the WHO states that “high-calcium water (and calcium from other sources) is beneficial to bone health by suppressing bone resorption.

Calcium was 282 mg/day in males and 212 mg/day in females.

Magnesium plays an important role in our bodies because it is involved in over 300 biochemical reactions in the body.

Magnesium comprises 50-60% of our bones and so tissues.

Magnesium also maintains healthy nervous system and muscle function, supports the immune system, regulates blood pressure and blood glucose levels; and plays a key role in energy production and making protein.

Magnesium’s role in preventing and managing disorders such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease.

WHO, drinking water should contain a minimum of 25–50 mg/l of magnesium and daily recommended allowances for magnesium should be met so that we have “healthier bodies, less cardiovascular diseases and longer lifespans.

Potassium one of the most important minerals, is essential for the very life of every cell. It is also among the most generously and widely distributed of all the tissue minerals. Is found principally in the intracellular fluid. A small amount of potassium in the extracellular fluid is necessary for normal muscular activity.

Potassium is present in all animal and plant tissues. Major dietary sources include milk (1.4-1.5 mg/kg), fruit and vegetables (0.8-4.4 mg/kg), fish (1.9-3.5 mg/kg), shellfish (0.3 to 3.9 mg/kg), beef (2-3.5 mg/kg), chicken and turkey (3 mg/kg); liver is also a rich source of potassium (2.5 to 4.2 mg/kg).

Potassium is a bluish-white metallic element. It is highly reactive and never found free in nature. It plays an important role as a catalyst in energy production and in the synthesis of glycogen and protein. Liberal use of alcohol, coffee, sugar, and diuretics can lead to depletion of potassium.

Alkaline Water
Many studies have claimed beneficial health effects of alkaline water consumption. For instance, it has been observed that oral administration of alkaline ionized water causes a reduction in blood levels of glucose, cholesterol, and triglyceride and improves metabolic functioning by suppressing free radical production in mice that are induced with metabolic disorder. It also protects pancreatic beta cells from oxidative damages. Moreover, alkaline water helps in reducing the rate of weight gain in obese mice by regulating cholesterol homeostasis.

Since alkaline water has higher pH, its natural capacity of neutralizing acids in the stomach makes it a good choice for treating gastrointestinal tract disorders, such as gastric hyperacidity, diarrhea, etc. In cases of laryngopharyngeal and gastroesophageal reflux diseases, alkaline water has shown to irreversibly inactivate pepsin, an endopeptidase responsible for reflux disease, by neutralizing acid in the stomach.

In case of exercise-induced dehydration in healthy adults, electrolyzed alkaline water has shown to reduce the high-shear blood viscosity, a coefficient to define viscous properties of blood. Interestingly, the consumption of alkaline water has also shown beneficial effects in promoting longevity. Mice administered with alkaline water have shown a better survival rate as compared to their counterparts that are administered with regular water.

Besides the potential health benefits of drinking alkaline water, bathing with it also improves skin-related problems. For example, bathing mice with alkaline water has shown to reduce skin damage associated with UV radiation by maintaining the balance between pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines.

Hydrogen Water

Hydrogen (H2) is a component of water (H20) that is tasteless, colorless and odorless in its natural gaseous state. Researchers in Japan discovered in 2007 that the hydrogen gas can help protect the brain from free radicals, and thus, act as antioxidant which is beneficial to health. Since then, further studies revealed that drinking hydrogen-infused water is a convenient, practical way to bring in the beneficial molecule into the body for health benefits.

Benefits of Hydrogen Water
A series of tests conducted by scientists around the world, including graduates of shimane University, Loma Linda University, The first Afffiliated Hospital of China Medical Unversity, and more, concluded that hydrogen water offers treatments for the following diseases and ailments:

  • Inflammation
  • Diabetes
  • Muscle Pain ( Exercise Induced )
  • Joint pain
  • Heart Disease
  • Abnormal Cell Growth ( Including Cancer )
  • Kindney Disease
  • Alzheimers Disease and Dementia
  • Low Energy ( Weak Cell Walls )
  • Aging ( Wrinkles and Lines )

Aside from being neuroprotective and antioxidant, the benefits of Hydrogen water are a plenty. Among these are:

1- suppresses inflammation
2- lowers blood sugar and cholesterol levels
3- reduce muscle weakness and fatigue
4- boosts weight loss
5- enhances metabolism
